Hi, I’m Martina Davies and Welcome to Travel-Madly!
I grew up in a small suburb of Dallas, Texas, surrounded by my large, tight-knit family.
We lived modestly, and for us, travel meant road trips to Central Texas to visit relatives. Exploring the world wasn’t something I thought much about—until I met my husband, Phillip. Hailing from the beautiful country of Wales in the UK, Phillip introduced me to a world of adventure beyond anything I had imagined. I’ll never forget my first solo flight to Wales—a middle seat on a United Airlines flight, sandwiched in the center of a five-seat row.
It was exhilarating, nerve-wracking, and cramped all at once, but it sparked something in me. With every journey that followed, I learned what I loved (and what I didn’t!), refining my travel skills along the way. Phillip’s parents were avid cruisers, but initially, the idea didn’t appeal to either of us—until we tried it ourselves. One trip was all it took—we were hooked!
Cruising became our passion, offering us the chance to experience multiple cultures in a short span of time while always returning to the comfort of our “floating hotel.” No stressing over accommodations, no second-guessing if we’d picked a safe, clean place to stay—just effortless exploration.
